Everyday packed!

Since coming back to Singapore 1.5 weeks ago, everyday has been packed with activities.
  1. Children birthday parties
  2. Dinner appointments
  3. Dental visit
  4. Haircut (for me)
  5. Playdate
  6. Window-shopping
  7. Brought the girls to the beach
  8. Relative visits

I also had the opportunity to go out with Adrian on dates (1st time in 2 years), leaving the girls behind at my mum's. I also invited my mother-in-law to go over to my mum's whenever I'm out. I enjoyed some timeout and the grandmas get to spend some quality time with their granddaughters. So far so good.

Home Sweet Home

We're finally back in Singapore. I was so worried about the flight home but surprisingly, it didn't feel that long (more like a 4hr flight). The girls were well behaved other than feeling uncomfortable with the sleeping positions. Nonetheless, they slept a good part of the journey home.

I must really praise Singapore Airlines for their service. It was so different from when I travelled with British Airways to go to UK in 2005. Then, I could remember many passengers asking for food because between the 2 main meals, nothing was served. That was about 6-8 hours if I didn't remember wrongly. But this time round with Singapore Airlines, snacks and fruit juice/water were constantly being served during the whole journey. Another stark difference was when I first stepped into the aircraft, I had a hand luggage and Louisa's small trolley with me. One flight attendant immediately helped me with the hand luggage and even put it in the overhead compartment for me. However when my father-in-law asked a BA flight attendant to help him load the hand luggage overhead because he has a bad back, she flatly refused, saying that it's not part of their job.

Other incidents include muddle-headed me forgetting to pick up the stroller after we disembarked. I think we were all too excited. But I went back to the airport for it the following day. Upon reaching home, we realised that one of our luggages were damaged. I made a report and someone from the airpline came to pick it up for repair. If it's beyond repair, then it will be replaced.

Another thing I was worried about was the girls suffering from jetlag. I read that we should follow the local time in order not to have it. So I got the girls to go to bed at 8pm and they slept. However, they woke at 1am and I gave them some food. They played and went to bed again at 4am. So far so good for the past night.

(Wednesday, 13th Dec 2006 Update: No jetlag for the girls, yeah!)

I'm very surprised I don't crave for any hawker food now that I'm back home. What's wrong?!

Hello Singapore

We'll be leaving for the airport in about 3 hours' time. Adrian has gone to pick Louisa while I am getting the stuff ready. Yes, Louisa still went to school today (1/2 day) as I don't want her to miss too much since she'll be away for so long. Christmas break starts on the 17th Dec and the new term will begin on the 3rd so she's actually missing alot.

Everyone is very excited, be it us or our families in Singapore. Let's hope for a smooth flight home.
