Sunny weather

This is what I like best when I click on the weather report - sunny icons throughout. Hard to come by in UK and even then, I have to check very often as the weather changes as often too.

Happy Birthday

Today, I celebrate my 33rd birthday. Spent the day shopping with my sis and Lavigne at Reading and eating dinner out with the family, just the 4 of us (more pics to come). Too bad I have a bad cold and my nose is all stuffed up so I couldn't really taste the food. It had been a great day except that it didn't end with a good note. Quite sad actually. Anyway, I hope now that I'm one year older, I'm one year wiser too. My proper birthday wish? I'd made it before blowing out the candle and I'm not saying.

Lucky streak

I can't believe I won again! I thought it was a one-off luck when I won that embellishment set. I was just browsing this blog when I came across the competition. I didn't even look at the number of comments left at that point and just casually posted one myself. Furthermore, other people could be dropping a comment at the same time and the author needs to authorise them first. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I received an email saying that 'You won!'. Well, another digital prize but hey, it's a win afterall!

Creative handwriting

Louisa wrote this on the envelope of her friend's birthday card. Such creativity for a 4 yr old. I hope she'll grow up to have a creative mind and hands.

A new look...yet again!

I know, I know.....my blog's got another new look again (this place is my creative outlet). I attempted to create something different the last time but because I'm so useless with html, I had to give up and go back to just designing the header. The colour scheme I used previously was pretty mellow and I decided it's not what I really want for my blog. I prefer bright and cheery colours and I think I've achieved the look I want this time. I'm very pleased with this header (created with the prize I won) so I think it's here to stay (for a while).

A day in spring

The weather forecast for today was good. So we took the girls out to McDonald's in Staines for breakfast. This was followed by shopping for fresh vegetables/fruits at the market, picking out a summer uniform and cap for Louisa, sewing materials for myself and then borrowing a stack of books from the library. How could we not go for a picnic when the weather was so lovely? So we went home and I prepared a picnic bag and off we went to Virginia Waters. This beautiful and famous park is just a stone's throw away yet we seldom go there. (Louisa prefers going to 'Giraffe Park' where there's a playground on site.) When we got there, the park was already full of families having picnics, people walking their dogs and young and old having a stroll. We picked a spot by the smaller lake and sat down on the mat to have some snacks. The girls went on to play with bubbles and I got myself busy taking pictures of them. Unfortunately, the batteries went flat after a while and I didn't bring any spares. It was really a waste as I couldn't take any pictures when we walked to the valley surrounded by lots of vibrant flowers (I'm a sucker for flowers remember?). I announced that we would go there again the following day for another picnic at the valley, conveniently forgot that Louisa has a party to attend. Hopefully, the weather will be good the following weekend (>20degrees) and we'll go back again.

'You can't drink it'

I was having some juice and the girls wanted to share. I told them they could have some later since they'd just finished one bottle. Lavigne then asked me for some sticky tape. As Louisa had just requested for some to do craftwork, I thought the little one was just copying her sister. I passed her some and she went on to stick it across the bottle cap. I asked her what was that for and she replied,' So that you can't drink it.'

can't touch this!

Yay! I won something.....digital

Well, it's a set of digital embellishments from this blog. All I had to do was leave a comment and winners were randomly picked. I was the #113 poster and only left a comment last night. To my great surprise when I checked my email just now after a long day at Legoland, there it was 'You WON a piece of Springtime in Paris!!' I've never had much luck with lucky draws and I couldn't believe my luck when I was picked as a runner-up out of 152 participants. Even though it was only the embellishments that I had won, I'm very pleased. There are so many cute and lovely things in the pack and I can't wait to use them.

New background

This is my first attempt at designing the background for my blog. I'm still experimenting and building it progressively so please bear with the look for the time being.
