Through E, I got to know C who happens to live nearby and I mean real close - like 2 minutes' drive away. I was very excited to know this mother as nothing beats making friends from my own country. As if the world is not small enough, C's hubby and A knew each other from army back in Singapore.
Anyhow, both E and C will be going back to their high-ranking jobs after their maternity leave so E has been making hour long trips with her baby to our county to see us. We were most comfortable speaking Singlish. The merit of making Singaporean friends lah. Makes me feel at home lor.
So back to the story, E came again today and we had Thai food for lunch. I'd been wanting to eat there since I first moved into that city. Today I had my wish granted. We all ordered Green Curry set lunch which was really value for money. Halfway through lunch, we saw a big group of posh English boys from a nearby private school walking past the restaurant. It must be lunchtime for them too. A couple of them came into the restaurant for a sit-down meal. Wow! I don't know that many working adults who have casual lunch in restaurants. Sandwiches are the way of life here. However, I may be wrong.
It was a nice get-together albeit the chilly weather. E's coming again on Friday and we're heading to Costco!
