Vegetable and Fruit Picking

Finally! We went to Garsons to pick our own fruits and vegetables today. A friend told us about this place a year ago and we kept saying we'd bring the girls there but didn't manage to until TODAY! We had so much fun!!!!! The moment we came out of the car, we were greeted by the sweet smell of strawberries. There were rows after rows of strawberries, plenty for us to pick. Each armed with an empty punnet, we began picking the most red and biggest strawberries we could find. We didn't let Lavigne pick any as she didn't know how to choose. But she was busy putting the picked strawberries into her punnet. In no time, we filled up 4 punnets. Other than strawberries, we picked a wee bit of blackcurrants, some raspberries, a couple of beetroots and 2 huge marrows. There were also redcurrants, blackberries, carrots, broadbeans, mangetout, sugar snaps, courgettes, spinach, cauliflower and broccoli but we didn't pick them. Since the crops were picked by us (no labour cost), they were cheaper to buy. Come to think of it, if you include petrol cost, they are in fact more expensive. But it was such a joyful experience. Best of all, the strawberries are so sweet and juicy. We're going back soon to pick cherries. One interesting sight though. The caucasians' punnets were filled with small strawberries while the ones that the Chinese picked were huge! Pics coming soon.....(I didn't bring my cam and used Jean's instead. She's sick at the moment and didn't manage to upload the pics yet.)

Petrol Cost is incurred even if you are buying them from a supermarket.

True, but then again, the farm is much further away than the supermarket.
