Jo's visit

We were very fortunate and blessed to have my sister Jo who came to visit us over Christmas and New Year. I'd been looking forward to her coming and we'd kept it a secret from the girls in order to give them a surprise on Christmas Eve. Trust me it wasn't easy not to let the cat out of the bag. As the day of her arrival drew closer, we nearly let slip a few times. Luckily she arrived early in the morning and I left home before the girls woke. When she walked through the door, the girls dared not come down as they didn't know who had come. Finally when they did, they were overjoyed and that included my sister.

Other than being a Santa Claus who showered us with gifts and treats, she brought much joy and happiness to the family. She went with us to friends' parties and homes and generously paid for our tickets to the spectacular Peter Pan show at O2. It was a short visit no doubt but she made my holiday a special one, one of my best Christmas/New Year ever. She had said that wherever she goes, there'll be no snow. Amazingly, all the snow which fell before Christmas, melted the day before she arrived and it started snowing again on our way to the airport. I'm glad she saw the snow but I think she was more worried I wouldn't be able to make my way home. Due to the severe weather forecast and advice from A, I took with me a hot water flask, a blanket and wore 2 coats over a thick jumper. In case my car got stuck halfway. Luckily it didn't. The girls, who thoroughly enjoyed having Tingyi around, didn't cry like the previous year. Louisa only announced she wants to move back to Singapore on several occasions after she left. Why? To live with Tingyi. Awwww....

Here's my sister, attempting to make breakfast for us and unwittingly set off the smoke alarm by using the grill which is not working properly. One who doesn't cook at home other than Maggi Mee, I was very touched by her effort.

Thank you for keeping the girls entertained and happy.
Thank you for keeping me company and lending a listening ear as always.
Thank you for lugging all my stuff over and not bringing enough clothes as a result.
Thank you for surprising me with the magazines you searched for in Singapore when you couldn't find them in HK.
Thank you for the treats and presents (*wink*)
Most important of all, thank you for believing in me and supporting me.
You'll be missed!

Cheh xx

Er, coz pa and ma don't fancy such breakfast? I doubt I will bake anything this year. My boss misplaced my pineapple tart cutter last year. Sobs!
