Two weeks ago, I'd wanted to write a post about someone making my day. My third sis planned to visit us en route her holiday to the States. I got really excited and began to make plans. I asked my colleagues to swap days with me so that I can spend time with her during the short 3 days she will be here. Then mum rang me on Thursday to ask me about the airport situations. I hadn't heard or read about the volcanic eruption in Iceland then. I reassured her life is per normal in UK and my sister's flights should not be affected since she's not due to fly till several days later.
But the situation became grim. Day after day, flights into and out of UK were all cancelled. I still had hope that she will be able to make it. Yesterday, she emailed me that she'd most likely not be able to come. I searched for related news hoping that flights will no longer be grounded soon. Then it dawned on me that I should give up hope. This morning, I rang her and she broke the news to me that her flights had been cancelled. I was really, really disappointed. She was due to fly out tomorrow. Headed to the supermarket right after our conversation but I wasn't in the mood to shop. That was one strange shopping experience.

Oh no, you sound so down! Be comforted that your sis is well at home. She can always visit you later!
I'm alright, Bing. Thanks for dropping a note. I feel better now after an afternoon of gardening and great weather! :)
Roslyn,
I can understand your dissapointment. Obviously it would be nice if your sis could come over to visit you. But she can always drop by later. Anyway, alot of major airlines are testing the flights (and it seems ok) and they are putting pressure on getting the ban lifted again. So, hopefully life will go on as normal for us.
Tsu Lin: Yes and I hope your hubby can come home soon.
