The weather forecast for today was good. So we took the girls out to McDonald's in Staines for breakfast. This was followed by shopping for fresh vegetables/fruits at the market, picking out a summer uniform and cap for Louisa, sewing materials for myself and then borrowing a stack of books from the library. How could we not go for a picnic when the weather was so lovely? So we went home and I prepared a picnic bag and off we went to Virginia Waters. This beautiful and famous park is just a stone's throw away yet we seldom go there. (Louisa prefers going to 'Giraffe Park' where there's a playground on site.) When we got there, the park was already full of families having picnics, people walking their dogs and young and old having a stroll. We picked a spot by the smaller lake and sat down on the mat to have some snacks. The girls went on to play with bubbles and I got myself busy taking pictures of them. Unfortunately, the batteries went flat after a while and I didn't bring any spares. It was really a waste as I couldn't take any pictures when we walked to the valley surrounded by lots of vibrant flowers (I'm a sucker for flowers remember?). I announced that we would go there again the following day for another picnic at the valley, conveniently forgot that Louisa has a party to attend. Hopefully, the weather will be good the following weekend (>20degrees) and we'll go back again.
