The products chosen, bought and paid for. Next will be the eager anticipation for the postman to knock on the door to pass me the parcel. This morning, the postlady knocked on my door and handed over a pink packet. Full of excitement, I came to my workdesk to open it. I had bought some pretty fabrics at Ebay. Remember me writing about not being able to get the type of fabric I want at my haberdashery? I figured out the next best place to get them is Ebay. Prior to this about 2 weeks ago, I did a super quick purchase. I was just browsing the site and 2 FQs from a seller caught my eye. The sale was going to last in less than 5 min so I put in my bids and won! A day and a half later, I received them in the post. Quickie shopping huh! Anyhow, I'd used bits and pieces of one of the fabrics for a project I mentioned.
I was particularly curious about the latest purchase simply because the seller emailed me 2 days ago (after I'd paid more than a week ago) informing me that she had sent out my fabrics BUT(!) there were a couple of prints that were different from what I had purchased. I didn't like what I read. She explained that she'd run out of one print and misplaced another one (I think this is just a lame excuse). But she did replace them with some others which she didn't consult me beforehand. Luckily, there was only one which I didn't really fancy. She had offered to refund me the return postage for anything I don't like. I think I will ask her if I can swap it with something else. Other than that, I am very pleased with the rest. I'm thinking of making some very simple skirts and dresses for the girls with my sister's mini sewing machine. Cushions and making appliques out of the fabrics are also on the agenda. Have I got nothing better to do? Not that but it'll be nice making clothes out of fabrics you really like, what more for your own children. Wish me luck!
No photos yet as my camera's a bit wonky. Not sure if the batteries are the cause but I'd just charged them. Certainly hope it's not the camera that's being funny. A sign that I should change my camera afterall?
Update: I requested the seller for a swap which she agreed. She had also mistakenly sent me an extra piece of a print I had bought. I proposed that I return her the one which I didn't like plus one other so that I will get a larger piece of Robert Kauffman's cupcakes (had been hankering after that but didn't buy as it is more costly than others). Since this one is more expensive than those that I had purchased, we agreed that I would pay for the return postage which she would otherwise have refunded me. I didn't incur any extra costs but in fact gain from it as the 2 prints which she didn't send me were really cheap.
These are the ones I'm returning to the seller. The daisy print at the bottom is the one I didn't like.
