Living statues

At Covent Garden, you can find quite a few living statues at one time. From Roman warriors to angels, anything anyone can think of really.

They never fail to fascinate. Some are really good. They do look the part. But not some others.

If you want them to move, just go towards them. Then toss a coin into a box placed in front of them and they will start to move. However, they will stop after a while. So if you want to see them move again, someone will have to toss more money.

It is always crowded along that street.

Somehow I don't feel good when I see them. I don't think it's a nice job and I doubt the performers enjoy spraying/removing paint on their bodies every day. And they have to stand in the sun and keep so still. It must be torturous!

But I think some people do enjoy the attention they get. Have a look at this http://www.flickr.com/photos/jiformales/1135107532/in/pool-humanstatue. I saw him that day too and he's really good!
